Performing the famous and controversial drama by even more famous and controversial author Siniša Kovačević in Yerevan (Armenia), is not only interesting to the level of exoticism (in the play doctors wear white robes with hoods, thus bearing an irresistible resemblance to the Armenian priests – Monophysites), but also from the perspective of a new reading of this piece, directed by Hakob Ghazanchyan, the most esteemed Armenian director, whose reputation transcends the troubled borders of his country of origin.
