Virginia Drungil - Nomads

They come from nowhere -
hungry people
lost to themselves
open to anything
they think one day
good Samaritan
will find and
feed them

No promised land in site
where you can rest easy
your dreams are peaceful
decoded, devoid
of the unrest
irony and madness

One day on the road
resting in the shade
of the lone tree
wind blowing harsh sand
in your eyes
reality of the hunger
hits you -

You'll never be there
no one is waiting
you wandered so long
lost in yourself
looking for the feast
looking for the fortress
there's nothing
sand castle
stormy coast
angry ocean

Go and be lost
in the riddles of 'ego'
in yourself
tribes of the enemies
strangers and beggars
run with the circus
follow the trail
of the bread
harvest is
dead
