Vigils for US school shooting victims

Thousands gathered at a spontaneous service for the victims of a school shooting in the US state of Connecticut that left at least 26 dead, including 20 children as young as five. Police were called to Sandy Hook elementary school after a man believed to be in his twenties walked in, pulled a ski mask over his face and started shooting. The shooter was found dead inside. It's been reported he had at least two guns by his side. Al Jazeera's Cath Turner reports from Newtown.
