Vidya Balan - Biography

Vidya Balan born on 1st January, 1979, is an Indian actress, model and has acted in Hindi, Malayalam and Bengali films.

Vidya Balan is the daughter of T R Balan and Saraswathy Balan.

Vidya Balan started her career as a model, and did music videos for Euphoria Band, Shuba Mudgal, Pankaj Udhas. She also acted in a TV serial Hum Paanch.

Vidya Balan started her film career with a Bengali film Bhalo Theko in the year 2003 and later tried to work in south Indian cinemas but failed to achieve success.

Vidya Balan again got a break in year 2005, with Parineeta and she won the hearts of the masses, critics with her great performance and the film was a big hit. Later she worked in many block buster films like Guru, Salam E Ishq, Hey Baby, Eklavya, Halla Bol, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Paa, Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica, The Dirty Picture and Kahaani.

Vidya has won awards for films like- Parineeta- best debut award by filmfare, for Paa best actress award by film fare, for Ishqya best actress critics award by film fare.

Her film Dirty Picture was a block buster hit and she won the filmfare and national award for best actress.
