Versace focus on daywear and separates

Versace's spring/summer show at Milan fashion week on Friday evening (September 19) focussed more on separates and short dresses rather than trademark evening glamour gowns. Contrast white-stitched black blazers covered up crop tops and sporty perforated grid-like open-work overlaid teeny-tiny separates, were accessorised with large and small bags in shades of pink and baby blue. Dresses, when they were included, were short, boxy and with sheer panelling. Cutouts were a recurring theme - across laser-cut accessories and with round porthole detailing. Colours contrasted sugared almond shades - of pink and blue with red, turquoise and black, for a punchy combination. The designs reprised the Greek Key frieze motif originally created by Gianni Versace in the 80s, here oversized and abstract.
