Venezuela: ANTV Will Be Owned by Workers

The head of Venezuela’s National Assembly, Diosdado Cabello announced that the Parliament’s TV station, ANTV, will be handed over to its workers. The announcement comes after an opposition leader and elected lawmaker vowed to fire staff members and executives of the station, including Program Director Claudia Almeida. The Secretary General of the Democratic Action Party Henry Ramos Allup said she would be fired along with the Human Resource Director, the management and every executive. “We will not pay for slackers,” he pronounced. teleSUR
