Vanessa Millar - Forget not TIBET
1 Views • Jun 14, 2014
Description
In a world cut off from ours.
In our daily routine their pain forgotten
We wastefully pass the hours.
Their simple belief of peace and compassion
In this time, drives them to pain.
They mean no harm and practice forgiveness
A simple yet trampled refrain.
So where in our hearts do we find
the moment that turns our fear to courage?
To stand against power for the sake of truth
And let honest peace simply flourish?
A thought for the people that preach against war.
Yet unyeilding and unwanted it comes,
to the doors of their houses invading their lives
with shrill and ugly tones.
What kind of world do we belong to
That thwarts the likes of kindness?
That sits on a pedastal feasting on greed
While feeding its own narrowmindedness.
A world through convenience just changes the channel
So as not to face true situations
And thinks of a new toy to buy next week
While lives are lost in mindless destruction.
It takes one not to follow, but to stop and think
And feel the pain in their cries.
To reason about it with the mind
And yearn to soothe their muffled sighs.
And after reason, speak the thoughts
To friends and acquaitances known
Until the world becomes informed
of an innocent peoples woes.
Help and support is all that is needed
Not money, not arms, not power.
For from a united majorities fight for peace
A greedy enemy could only cower.
Stand for the fight of the peaceful people
The kind simple people of TIBET
Lest it be a culture we no longer have
This peoples plight we MUST NOT forget.
