Vallerie Lobell - Looking Back

I found myself on a long meandering track,
Thinking about the futility of one looking back,
I thought of old cliches and quotes,
And some of the adages that were wrote,

Remember the wife of Lot! ! , came first on my list,
What made her look back, what was it she missed,
And something about a farmer putting his hands to a plow,
If he looked back, how straight his rows now?

A song of someone looking back to see if someone looked back too,
Sometimes all you find are memories of those lost to you,
Life's like the one way street signs in many places,
I wonder if they're looking back, I see far away looks on their faces,

When you look back, all you get is a sore neck I read,
This person is wise I thought in my head,
Sadly another thought came to to me,
Don't care too much for what's ahead that I see,
