So, when does two hearts
Thaw, merge and become one?
Is it when the chimes of the aisle ring?
Or when the damsel is garnished
With a flowing robe
Is it when the groom flies like a spectre?
In the final show of intimate ascendancy
And crowds dance down the boulevard
Is it when frankincense clouds the air?
As the vicar chants celestial prescriptions
Or else the attorney formalizes
The amalgamation of affection
Is it during the prime banquet?
Or else the garden revelry
Where feasting and hollow laughs
And the breeze of merriment rule the air
Is it when the two elope?
To enjoy the clime of solemn love
When does the two hearts
Suffer transformation into one
And transfiguration into harmonious existence
The oracle of the heavens offer the reply
Two become one when they first fall in love
Not when the celebrant rings the wedding bells!
