Yep we've got all the Finnish funk you could want. For those that don't remember, skweee was the genre that emerged on 7" singles from Scandinavia in the mid-2000s based on all-analogue equipment, full of lurching basslines and g-funk synth leads - supported by Kode 9 , oddly paralleling the hyperfunk of Joker and Rustie that was emerging around the same time, and presaging a lot of the hardware-led "outsider" sounds of the 2010s. But it never went away, and most of its major names are still pumping out the wiggly-worm noises - not least V.C. , who as this dancehall-powered beast shows, is still firing on all cylinders . It comes from the Black Squirrel White Castle EP out on Raha & Tunteet on the 25th May.
