US, Philippines Coast Guards hold joint exercise

The US Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf arrives in Manila following its first joint exercise with the Philippine Coast Guard in the South China Sea, amid rising tension in the disputed area. Two Chinese Coast Guard ships were seen observing at a distance while the exercise was being held.
