US migrant deterrent media push

This is part of the tv, radio and press campaign the U.S. hopes will deter would-be migrants from Central America.

The campaign highlights the physical risks of the journey and the difficulty of getting the documents to stay in the U.S. legally.

It's running in Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador where poverty and gang violence have ignited an exodus.

It's being fuelled further by smugglers known as Coyotes, putting out the word that pregnant women and unaccompanied minors are treated more leniently and allowed to stay

U.S. officials say more than 50, 000 unaccompanied children have entered the country since October.

The Obama administration insists most will be sent home.
