American David Headley is pictured in court as he's sentenced to 35-years in prison for aiding plotters of the 2008 Mumbai attack.

Headley, who is of Pakistani decent, admitted videotaping sites that were targeted by militants in Mumbai.

More than 160 people were killed in the raid.

Headley pleaded guilty to 12 charges and had agreed to testify against the plotters to avoid the death penalty.

Prosecutors praise the intelligence he's given as a part of that plea.

SOUNDBITE: ACTING UNITED STATES ATTORNEY, GARY SHAPIRO, SAYING (English):

"We all believe that his information went way beyond us being able to charge additional defendants in the Mumbai plot. We believe that information has been very useful. We believe it has helped a number of countries, and that's really as far as I think I can go."

Defence lawyers had hoped Headley's cooperation would lead to a reduced sentence, but they accepted the ruling.
