US largest union sees shift to Democrats

October 15 2010 Richard Trumka, president of the largest union in the US tells Edward Luce that Democrats will do better than expected in the midterm elections. AFL-CIO president says the White House had been sending mixed messages to voters but is now focused squarely on jobs. Trumka refused to say how much his organization is spending on the midterms and vehemently rebutted suggestions that his group is partisan.
