Uriah Hamilton - Wedding Rings

I don’t complain as I walk these streets of pain,
I love everything I see, the stay dogs
And the winos pissing in the rain.

Enchanting love is a dream that eludes me,
A woman’s beauty is just something that confuses me,
Weddings rings are decorations packed away
More quickly than tinsel on a Christmas tree.

In my lonely way, I’m happy,
I’ve accepted my coffin-sealed dreams
For the disposable coffee-ground quality
They represent to me.

I find poetry and God in the eternal sadness:
To most people, I’m a jokester,
But to myself, I’m a wondrous mystic.
