Update on 'The Batman'

Last month, DC Comic book fans learned it was “highly unlikely” Ben Affleck will play Batman in The Batman. It's been reported that Affleck will play Batman one last time for Flashpoint. Rumors have been circulating that director Matt Reeves wants Jake Gyllenhaal to play Batman. As of last month the script for The Batman was still in the outline stage. Affleck still has a contract to play Batman in The Batman. The rumors Affleck wants to leave the role have been loud and persistent.
