A child getting kidnapped is every parent's worst nightmare. South Africa has seen a rise in the number of child abductions. Rebecca Walker, a research associate at the African Centre for Migration has written a report on Child Trafficking in South Africa, exploring myths and realities. She argues that a lack of data, claims about the number of children who are trafficked are largely unsubstantiated, exaggerated and sensationalised.
