Unlicensed doctor kills child after performing basic tonsillitis surgery

In Henan, located in central China, police discovered a man masquerading as a doctor and operating an unlicensed clinic. They arrested the man after he murdered an 11-year-old boy.

The boy, nicknamed Yang Yang, lived at boarding school most of the time and came home once every 10 days. But Yang Yang wasn’t feeling well and complained that his throat hurt, so the school called his mother to come pick him up.

Yang Yang’s mother took him to the local clinic to see the doctor.

Dr. Zhang, the local resident doctor, looked at Yang Yang’s throat and pronounced that the boy had tonsillitis and needed to have surgery. The doctor reassured the mother that it was a simple surgery and asked the boy to have a seat.

Using a small scalpel the doctor made a few incisions on the boy’s neck, but then the boy coughed and blood burst from his nose and mouth. Shocked by the amount of blood pouring from Yang Yang’s face the mother demanded the doctor call emergency services.

Dr. Zhang called emergency services and ordered that a car from the clinic drive the boy and his mother the hospital, halfway there the vehicle passed the ambulance. The two vehicles stopped and the paramedics pronounced the boy dead.

When police investigated the death of the boy they discovered that Dr. Zhang wasn’t a licensed doctor and the clinic was also unlicensed. The fake doctor and his staff have been arrested, pending further investigation.

Looks like the townsfolk will have to find another doctor, hopefully this one will be legit.
