“Het heeft me tot na mijn dertigste gekost om te beseffen dat ik een echte muzikant ben.” Ruban Nielson van Unknown Mortal Orchestra (UMO) durft er op zijn 35e eindelijk voor uit te komen dat zijn muziek gehoord mag worden. Het derde UMO album Multi-Love wordt dan ook alom geprezen en als live act staat de indierock band al jaren als een sensatie te boek. Het maakte Nielson een beetje ambitieuzer als muzikant: “Het wordt nooit perfect, maar ik doe mijn best.”
