Description

Rick Smith and Karl Hyde have been in Underworld since 1987. For the dance orientated eight studio album Barking, the two worked together more closely than before. "People come to Underworld to party", Hyde says. During its long career Underworld was mainly engaged in house, techno, and electronic music. Producer Smith (51) and singer/lyricist Hyde (53) debuted in 1988 with Under The Radar, but didn't have their breakthrough until 1996 single Born Slippy .NUXX. "Most of our records have been about Rick solving all the problems on his own", Hyde remembers. "Laziness on my part or even a sense that I was going to interfere with the magic that he has, left a lot of things to him."
