Description

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)

STORY: Russian police detained about 75 people protesting against Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and demanding the freedom of assembly on Saturday, dispersing small crowds of demonstrators in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Groups of opposition activists hold protests on the 31st of every month that had 31 days, saying freedom of assembly guaranteed in Article 31 of the Russian Constitution is routinely violated by Putin's government.

Opposition leaders and more active protesters are frequently detained at the demonstrations, and the protests this month, which followed Putin's election to a six-year presidential term on March 4, were no exception.
