British police have announced a reward worth nearly 77, 500 dollars in their hunt for the killer of Indian student Anuj Bidve.
The 23-year-old was shot in the head at point blank range.
SOUNDBITE: Dawn Copley, Assistant Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police saying (English):
"I'm announcing a reward of 50, 000 pounds for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those reponsible for Anuj's murder."
Bidve was shot at this spot in the northern English city of Salford on December 26th.
The micro-electronics student was with a group of friends when he was shot after a brief conversation with a man who approached them.
Police say they're treating the murder as a hate crime.
Bidve's family say they found out about his death on Facebook before officer were able to contact them.
Five people have been arrested, three of whom are now free on bail pending further inquiries.
