Ujwal Bastakoti - When Hope Dies

In a highway, I was alone
Even my shadow was not present
I looked up in the sky
No Stars…. No Moon……….
Only Black Cloud…........
I looked around
Nothing to view………only darkness
Abruptly, a hope emerged
It vowed to be with me
Not only in pain but also in pleasure
I was cheerful and sustained my journey
It encourage me to tackle with the hindrance
It defined the life-“It is beautiful”
It clarified about love-“It never pains”
It seemed I had a new life
I was enjoying………
With stars and moon less sky
Desired to be in that moment for ever
With nothing to view……only darkness
But couldn’t clutch that moment
Rays appeared……..Sky was blue……No more Darkness
The hope diminished
Seemed as it was robbed by the rays, by the blue sky
Surely! My hope was not to get away from darkness
It was to enjoy each and every moment
Of darkness…..Of fearfulness……Of loneliness……..
Today, I live in brightness
But my life is darker than before
And think me hapless
The stars and the moon bother me a lot
So, when hope dies
Nothing seems exist anymore
