of reading poetry
is
the joy
a kin to discovering the first love.
having discovered
you gaze transfixed to
to the tender face
and try
to read meanings
in the ever-shifting eyes,

the same words, the same
juxtapositions but
the lines reverberate with
meanings
is it a chance or
pre-destined,
you gaze and gaze,
you pore and pore,
each time
it throws up more substance
more emotions and
more promise.
