Description
U.S. President Donald Trump says a Section 232 national security probe into semiconductor imports could wrap up “as early as next week,” opening the door to additional, sector-specific U.S. tariffs beyond last week’s 20% blanket duty on most Taiwanese goods. He also asserted that Taiwan chip giant TSMC's investments in Arizona will top US$300 billion, despite the publicly announced amount of $165 billion. TSMC declined to comment.
