Description
The U.S. defense department has provided options to the White House on reducing its troop presence in South Korea.
Following the report by the Wall Street Journal, an unnamed Pentagon official told Yonhap News... that he won't comment on press speculation,... but explained Washington "routinely" reviews its global force posture.
He added...Trump has been clear and consistent regarding defense cost-sharing worldwide.
The latest report and comments come during a time when South Korea and the U.S. are unable to agree on how much of the defense cost sharing Seoul should shoulder.
Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Friday that in a few months, Washington will review relocating troops in areas like the Indo-Pacific.
