Description

Aerial footage from the Breezy Point neighborhood in Queens New York shows the charred remains of more than 100 homes leveled by fire.

People walk through streets now turned into a wasteland.

Dozens of other homes were also damaged by Sandy's fierce winds and driving rain.

The Subway system in lower Manhattan is still under water. Some of New York's subway system ix expected to reopen on Thursday -- but not in lower Manhattan.

In New Jersey a small seaside community is washed out by the storm. A portion of a bridge has completely disappeared.

Sandy, which caused epic flooding across much of the U.S. Northeast, is the biggest storm to hit the country in generations.
