U.S. Flu Outbreak Worsens

The U.S. flu outbreak has worsened over the past week as more people headed to doctors’ offices and emergency rooms. Hospitalizations have been at the highest in nearly 10 years. Sixteen children died of the flu in the week ending January 27th. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s weekly report, that brings the total pediatric deaths to 53 for the season. The United States is now 10 weeks into the current flu season. It is expected to last for at least several more weeks.
