A wood and cardboard house under a bridge on the edge of a river makes a precarious home. But in a country prone to typhoons, it means the lives of the inhabitants are regularly put at risk. After one of the fiercest typhoons ever recorded, the FT's Tom Griggs visits some of Manila's poorest residents on the edge of the city's port.
