Is anything real?
Are we truly alive?
Is free an expression?
Just a thought in our minds?
The words that we say
The games that we play
The hearts that we break
And mistakes that we make

Is it all just a dream
An illusion of truth
Is the end of it all
Just the same as the root?
The waters run still
In the river of life
When our own fellow man
Can't define wrong from right

None of that matters
And the end of the day
Gives way to the lies
We've accepted at face
To believe what we're told
With no second thought
The reason we're starving
The reason they're not

Some see through the lines
Some scream for a fight
As the sheep among wolves
Are all eaten alive
Taste the blood of the lamb
No one dares take a stand
Religious control
From the devil's own hand

Is anything real?
Have we already died?
Could this be hell,
In this world we reside?
Every eye blind
To the reason they weep
The answer it seems
Are the secrets they keep
