Two dead in Pakistan train station blast

A bomb blast at a railway station in Pakistan's southwestern town of Chaman, in Balochistan province, killed two people and injured at least 10 others on Wednesday.

According to reports, the bomb was placed near the ticket counter and waiting area at Chaman railway station, which were both destroyed.

Geo TV reports that eyewitnesses and officials said the bomb was planted on a motorbike.

The blast occurred as passengers were boarding a train leaving for Quetta, which was delayed due to the blast.

The explosion caused several people to be trapped under the rubble. The injured, among them women and children, were taken to a hospital in Chaman.

According to reports, doctors said that among the injured, three were in critical condition.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but authorities blame insurgents.

According to Reuters: "The attack came a day after security forces seized 100 tons of bomb-making material in Quetta, one of Pakistan's most violent cities, on Tuesday night."

"Various militants are active in Quetta, including the Pakistani Taliban, sectarian groups and separatist nationalist insurgents. Paramilitary government forces have also been accused of abducting and killing civilians, charges they deny."
