Two Dead After Van Drives Into Florida Inlet, Sinks

A father and daughter died</a> in Venice, Florida, after they drove their vehicle off South Jetty Park into the water on Monday, May 8. The victims were identified as Eugene Hayden, 89, and Carol Hayden, 64, by city officials.A witness told ABC Action News</a> the two victims were trying to get out of the vehicle and people tried to help them, but the water pressure was too great. A Venice police officer also attempted to help, according to city officials, but the vehicle had submerged by the time the marine patrol arrived.
