Twilight Whispers - Hero

My perception of a hero has changed over the years.

Presently, a hero to me is someone who understands you,

Without pretending to - someone who will listen to your worries

And offer you advice - or admit honestly that they don't know how to help.

A hero, to me, is someone who can make you smile without meaning to,

And brighten up your day when so far it's been a right old stinker.

A hero is someone who sticks up for you when other people turn against you,

Someone who isn't afraid to help you fight your battles, whatever they may be.

A hero is someone who lets you cry when you’re sad,

Cries with you when you’re happy, and isn’t jealous of a single thing in your life.

A hero is someone who’ll hug you for no reason, wrapping you in their arms for

Safety, love and unity.

A hero is someone who’ll call just to see if you got home alright,

Someone misses you when they said goodbye five minutes previously.

A hero is a true, honest friend.
