Turkish protests continue despite PM concession
Description
The Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan says he'll put redevelopment plans for an Istanbul park on hold until a court rules on the issue.
But protesters remain defiant.
(SOUNDBITE) (Turkish) PROTESTER, EBRU, SAYING:
"We have been here for too many days, like two weeks or so. I cannot even count. We do not believe that any solid outcome will come about from the talks with the government or any other possible meetings. We will resist with our own power. the majority of us think that we will continue to resist."
Here in Ankara in late night protests, police used water cannon and smoke grenades to disperse the crowd.
Dozens of protesters were detained.
Four people have died and thousands have been injured since a police crackdown on peaceful campaigners in Gezi park in May.
