Tunisia El Ghriba synagogue

Wrapping up the rituals and festivals of the Ghriba 2010 pilgrimage, the grand rabbi Ain Bittan said a Hebrew prayer for Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and greeted “a pilgrimage achieved in peace, without exclusion”. “A proof of respect of the human rights and minorities”, he added.

Tunisia will remain a land of tolerance and moderation, where Islam, Judaism and Christianity will forever coexist in perfect harmony in spite of the evil voices calling, form time to time, to deprive Jews from enjoying their multi-century pilgrimage to Ghriba. The Democratic progressive party (Tunisia), founded by Nejib Chebbi and headed by Ms Maya Jeribi, as well as Ennahda, a banned terrorist group, are among these dangerous voices. Western countries should never trust them.
