Hold tightly, love softly,
Kiss me with flames-
For when the bough breaks
It won't be gentle.

If love is the force,
The tension will snap,
Splinters of every word
Shall break your heart free.

It's safe here with me-
No one can see the forest
For the trees...
Or hear your song as a nightingale.

All will be peace,
Silent, still,
And she will wash over
Lovers in her tender moonlight.

Moss as your blanket,
Night as our companion-
Come, drink from a fountain
That never stills or runs dry.

Hear the song in the distance,
Feel the lone dropp of water
Descend down, from your neck
To your breast-

Let me follow it to where it ends.

For here in the darkness
Your shudder is a prayer-
That gentle moan an invocation
For daylight's flowers to bloom.

When the bough breaks, baby,
Don't say a word.
You won't need to,
Your passion will say it for you.
