Description
A fresh new attempt at ending the program that shields hundreds of immigrants from deportation,... for those living in the U.S. after illegally entering as children.
The Trump administration said Tuesday that it will reject any new applications for the so-called "Dreamer" immigrant program and shorten the deportation protections of those whose eligibility is soon to expire.
The review comes the court ruling last month that found the administration had erred in the way that it had decided to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or the DACA program in 2017, in which some 644-thousand immigrants are enrolled in.
The review is likely to take around 100-days, putting off any final decision on the program until after the U.S. Presidential election, where Trump is fighting for a second term.
