Trump Admin Flip-Flops On COVID-19 Data Reporting Policy

Gizmodo reports hospitals will once again be required to report data to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The move comes only a month after the new policy was implemented. Public health experts and others criticized the government loudly about the switch.
The CDC has long overseen the tracking of relevant infectious disease threats in the country through its National Health Safety Network.
In the month since the move, there have been repeated delays and inconsistencies in the data compiled by the Department of Health and Human Services.
It's prevented the reliable tracking of the pandemic and could lead to gaps in allocating important resources to hospitals, such as drugs and PPE.
