Truck and Coach Technician
Description
Students who qualify will complete, in 32 weeks, the in-school portion of their apprenticeship training. An additional four weeks will be spent with a potential employer or performing other work-related activities. A combination of theory and lab is delivered on the latest truck and coach technology using a variety of truck and coach manufacturers vehicles and system components. Upon completion, graduates work to complete the on-the-job portion of their apprenticeship with a fleet, transit, dealership or other employers. Apprentices are then eligible to write their provincial Certificate of Qualification exam. A local apprenticeship committee, Automotive Transportation Service Superintendents Association (ATS) will assist perspective candidates in obtaining an apprenticeship contract and job placement upon successful completion.
