Tropical Storms Are Looming

Haiti and the northwest Florida coast are preparing for the brunt of seasonal storms. Tropical depression Grace could bring up to 15 inches of rain to Haiti today. Haitians are already struggling to deal with the aftermath of Saturday’s 7.2 magnitude earthquake. Tropical storm Fred looks like it may greet the northwest Florida coast by this evening. The U.S. National Hurricane Center reports the greatest threat of Fred is 4 to 8 inches of rain. High water could then be a risk, depending on the tide. The southern peninsula of Haiti is bearing the worst of Grace as it is still coming to terms with the earthquake blamed for nearly 1,300 deaths.
