Trigger is the story of a friendship between two women. Victoria “Vic” Sawchyn and Kathryn “Kat” Lake are friends from childhood who started a neighbourhood band together — sort of like the Go–Go's meet Patti Smith with a little Siouxsie and the Banshees thrown in. Sticking to their rock ‘n' roll dream, they continued to trade up bands until they began to have real success with a hit single and a European tour. On the tour, things went to hell and, due to egos and drugs and rock ‘n’ roll, the band imploded as did the friendship. Now it's 10 years later and a local record label is having a benefit concert to honor women in rock; Vic and Kat are expected to attend. They meet for dinner and it is clear that, although there is a desire to make amends, it's unclear to each of the women who really needs to apologize. As we travel with them on a trip to the concert and a late night after–party, their stories are revealed and the true nature of their friendship is discovered.

Trigger ist die Geschichte einer Freundschaft zwischen zwei Frauen. Victoria „Vic“ Sawchyn und Kathryn „Kat“ Lake sind Freundinnen aus der Kindheit, die zusammen eine Nachbarschaftsband gegründet haben – so etwas wie die Go-Gos treffen auf Patti Smith mit ein bisschen Siouxsie und den Banshees. Sie bleiben bei ihrem Rock 'n' Roll Traum tauschten sie weiterhin Bands aus, bis sie mit einer Hitsingle und einer Europatournee echten Erfolg hatten. Auf der Tour ging es zur Hölle und aufgrund von Egos und Drogen und Rock 'n' Roll implodierte die Band ebenso wie die Freundschaft. Jetzt ist es 10 Jahre später und ein lokales Plattenlabel gibt ein Benefizkonzert, um Frauen im Rock zu ehren; Vic und Kat werden erwartet. Sie treffen sich zum Abendessen und es ist klar, dass zwar der Wunsch nach Wiedergutmachung besteht, aber jeder der Frauen unklar ist, wer sich wirklich entschuldigen muss. Während wir mit ihnen zu einem Konzert und einer nächtlichen After-Party reisen, werden ihre Geschichten enthüllt und die wahre Natur ihrer Freundschaft entdeckt.
