31 May 2011 Reporting from Lincoln, Nebraska seen a few more tornadoes and done a couple of interviews for TV wetaher.com and the great Tornado hunt.
Unfortunately the death toll for Joplin has increased to 140.
My total telly for tornadoes stands at 12 now. Last two days in Nebraska were awesome, beautifull part of the USA and very friendly people.
We chased around Taylor and Broken Bow.
The 2 to 3 inch hail stones taste nice like big ice blocks. pop them in the mouth and enjoy a piece of water which has been up in the clouds 20,000 or 30,000 feet high.
Also very interesting electrical installations and transformers there which i will put on YouTube. 60 Hertz sounds and some old electromechanical meters.
Amazing distances are covered here as only 4 days ago we were in Memphis, Tennessee. Today is a down day which means the weather is warm and no good conditions regarding wind shear, and temperature gradients to cause tornadoes. As long the tornadoes stay in the plains it is fine. But when cities and small townships are shredded that is devastating for the affected people involved. We saw various gustnadoes yesterday, and a brief touchdown which was a tornado as we had to stay in front of a raging storm moving at 60 MPH and the highway speed is 75 MPH. The lightning was amazing at 3 or more bolts per second and the sky turned black with sidewinds up to 100 MPH.
23 May 2011, tragic news the Joplin tornado killed 89 people.

I feel very sorry for the people of Joplin who lost there family in this terrible violent Tornado. Got some footage of the tornado chasing us through the main road. Can't upload M2TS files at the hotel.

22 May 2011 we were in Joplin, Minnesota today and the tornado was less than 200 meters away from us which destroyed half of the town and killed 24 people.
I have parts on video which I will upload later. There is a clip loaded from one of our guys on the T chasers van.
We saw 3 tornadoes today and the lightning storms here are amazing.

21 May 2011 we saw the first tornado form under a supercell NE Kansas which produced an amazing display of power.

As I will be off to the USA tomorrow, chasing tornadoes, I may not reply to questions directly as I'm not sure if I have easy access to a computer.
If an opportunity arises I will update my status and video footage.

Mid May 2011, June 2011 I'm going to the U.S.A. chasing tornadoes.
Hope to get some interesting footage from these violent storms and interesting lightning displays.
Of course risks are involved here so I do my best to remain in one piece.
If the chances exist to do live uploading from there i will do, otherwise it will be uploaded when back in New Zealand
