For the systematic development of Krishna consciousness in society, Lord Krishna creates four social classes: the intellectual class (brahmanas), the martial and administrative class (kshatriyas), the agricultural and mercantile class (vaishyas), and the manual laborers (shudras). When these classes perform their duties according to the instructions of Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita, peace, prosperity, and spiritual advancement reign in society.
