Trainee doctors plan to continue strike
64 Views • Aug 30, 2020
Description
South Korea's trainee doctors have vowed to continue their strike in protest against the government's plans for healthcare reform.
The Korean Intern Resident Association made the announcement this morning following an overnight meeting of its emergency committee.
In response to that decision, the health ministry expressed deep regret, saying the move does not consider the lives and safety of the people,… and urged the trainee doctors to return to work.
Doctors and trainees are opposed to the government's plan to train thousands more doctors and open new public medical schools.
