TRAIN ON FIRE

A fire on an Israel Railways train traveling through central Israel injured more than 100 people Tuesday December 28th. The flame burned through three carriages and the panicky passengers had difficulty getting out, until a Border Policeman fired at the window panes and enabled them to exit. The young soldier has humbly stated that he does not want to be called a hero on behalf of his actions for he was only doing what he was obligated to do. The incident ended without loss of lives, though all the passengers who were stuck in the carriages sustained light to moderate injuries. The damage to the cars is estimated at NIS 50 million.
