Inspiré de faits réels, ce drame en trois parties revint sur une série d’événements mystérieux et terrifiants s’étant déroulés dans une banale maison d’Enfield à l’automne 1977. Maurice Grosse a voulu enquêter un temps sur cette affaire étrange, enquête qui lui offre la possibilité de fuir l’ambiance glaciale de son domicile qu’il partage avec sa femme, Betty. Après une période d’inactivité décourageante, Maurice est témoin de la glissade d’une théière à travers de la table et de sa chute fracassante. L’esprit frappeur est-il réel ? Le romancier Guy Playfair entre alors en scène et se joint à l’enquête. In 11-year-old Janet Hodgson’s bedroom, a chest of drawers slides across the floor on its own. So begins a barrage of paranormal activity that terrifies the family. Maurice Grosse has wanted to investigate a paranormal case for some time. He’s only too relieved to escape the chilly atmosphere at home with his wife, Betty. After a disheartening period of inactivity, Maurice witnesses a teapot slide across a table and smash. Is the poltergeist real? Enter Guy Playfair to investigate.
