Alec Russell, the Financial Times' news editor has presented the FT's first video-documentary, an investigation into the multi-billion dollar illegal wildlife trade. This short film examines both the supply and demand side of the trade which is fuelled by the rising wealth of East Asian economies. Focusing on the poaching of rhinoceroses and pangolins; it also highlights the difficulty the world faces in combating global criminal networks. It is a story about the shadowy side to the intensifying links between Africa and Asia. It is also a story about the fragility of institutions in many emerging markets
