i am the dreams
that paint your sleeping canvas,
the gentle, warm confusion
when you open your eyes to a new day.
you are unaware.
i am with you.

my voice calls to you
within the distant sounds of the quiet night.
don't wait for me in the dark
you won't find me.
i am with you.

can you see me in the moonlight
that brightens your path?
do you feel my touch
when the morning air caresses your cheek?
would you sense the difference
if i were gone?
you don't need to understand.
i am with you.

it is me you taste
in the bitter sweetness of your wine
me you hear
in the harmony of the choir voices.
the sunlight through the glass
is my reflection
you barely notice
but I don't need your comprehension
i am with you.
