Description
Tall man walking with his head on one side,
Hell’s Angel’s handlebars way over-size,
McDonald’s run like a well-oiled machine,
Wonder what such strange signs mean.
Even the river's got regulated flow,
Like the traffic I’m in: all stop ‘n’ go.
The whole town seems to long to break free
Wishing just to be let be -
Perhaps it does, but it might not be
It’s just how it felt, today, to me.
(Impressions of a whistlestop trip to Lörrach [close to the German border with France and Switzerland])
