Tony Jolley - Drawing Lines
0 Views • Nov 07, 2014
Description
Sometimes with a flourish of the fingertips,
Sometimes with a white-knuckled fist
With such pressure and power
Even soft graphite
Tears the paper to bits?
Well, it was kind of like that …
And yet not.
It wasn’t deliberate:
I didn’t plan or plot the points,
Didn’t take aim,
Take care or concentrate.
Didn’t bother with a ruler –
It wasn’t that kind of straight edge -
But it was there all the same:
The discontinuity:
The line
Between you and me.
